About Us and Our Maths Tuition Centre

Alison

Alison

I have an MA Education, PGCE, and BSc.(hons) and 18 years teaching experience in schools, colleges and private tuition.  I teach KS3, GCSE and Functional Skills Levels 1 and 2.

So a little bit about my history: I started teaching in a secondary school, before moving to a Further Education college, where I taught GCSE and Functional Skills Maths for a number of years.  During my time at the college, I was Head of Maths for almost 4 years and was responsible for the  maths provision across college.  Having decided that I did not want to go into Senior Management, I became a Lead Practitioner, supporting staff with their teaching practice. From that I went into Teacher Education, training the next generation of teachers.

Last year I decided I wanted a better work/life balance and left my job. I spent some time exploring my options and considering what I wanted to do before deciding to set up this maths tuition centre. Throughout my career, I have done some private tuition alongside my full-time job and I have always loved it, so it seemed a natural step for me to take.

I have  QTLS and  a BSc. in Commerce and 10 years teaching experience. I teach KS2, GCSE and A Level.

I have always had outstanding results and two years ago I was voted "Teacher of the Year" by the students where I work.  I currently work teaching maths in a college and do our maths tuition centre sessions in the evenings and at weekends.
